First I made bread, so I guess we need jam
When I was newly married, I decided to make jelly. A trip to the store supplied me with a jelly making kit, apparently all that I needed, plus 8 small jars. I chopped, cooked, strained and produced some fine apple jelly. I remember showing that jelly to people. Somehow proving that I was settled down and married because I MADE JELLY.
Flash forward 18 years and I had yet to make jelly again (although the jelly making kit did move with us to Florida). About a month ago I started seeing a sign for a local produce stand that had strawberries by the flat. I was in the middle of preparing for an art show, so I told myself if the sign was still out in a week I was making jam. Wouldn't you know it....those signs were still out. So on Monday morning I stopped and bought three flats of strawberries. Of course I couldn't just make one kind of jam, I had to make three. That's just how I jam.
