Find time for your art
We all love when we can take a class or spend a weekend creating. Why not make this a mini part of every day? I know we all have responsibilities, but I think we can all find a few minutes each day to do something creative.
I think the first step is to broaden our definition of "creative time". You don't need hours of time to get something done. Fifteen minutes, a few times a week, would be enough to start with. I think we can all find fifteen minutes.
The second step is to have a project handy, so when you have those fifteen minutes, you don't spend it looking for supplies. Maybe you can have a tray tucked away in a closet that you stock with some watercolors and paper? A basket of yarn and knitting needles next to the sofa? A sketchbook and pencil pouch in your purse in case you need to wait for an appointment?
You would think that I wouldn't have to find these pockets of time anymore, but I still struggle to find time to work on little projects. My family enjoys watching a show called "Father Brown", so almost every night when my husband gets home that is what we do. This is the perfect time for me to work on a little project. I especially like to work on my stitching projects when we are watching TV. I also carry my stitching to my son's school classes and events. I can squeeze in some creative time and stitching can still be social if other moms want to chat.
How can you find a few minutes to be creative?
